Flora Joyce joins Zoan

Zoan BioMed is delighted to announce the appointment of Flora Joyce as Scientific Officer.

Flora brings a wealth of experience from her diverse background spanning research, academic teaching and most recently clinical work as a practising pharmacist and member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.

After finishing school in Connemara, Flora completed her B.Sc (Hons) in Biotechnology and M.Sc in Neuropharmacology at NUI, Galway. As part of her M.Sc studies she worked in London for GSK, developing a model for Alzheimer’s.  She went on to spend two years lecturing in pharmacology and neuropharmacology at the University.

Flora undertook prize winning research while studying for her M.Pharm in Aberdeen, presenting a systematic review of the literature around Ankylosing Spondylitis. During that time Flora co-ordinated an audit of the clinical data of all patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis in Scotland and Ireland.

Since returning home to Connemara, Flora has been making sure medicines get to patients wherever they are – from the foothills of the Inagh Valley to the tiny islands of Inis Bofin and Inis Turk. When she isn’t working (inside or outside the home!) Flora loves spending time enjoying nature with her husband, 3 daughters, family and friends.

Flora brings a wealth of experience from her diverse background spanning research, academic teaching and most recently clinical work as a practising pharmacist and member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
